Fresh off a breakout year on the live circuit, The Barefoot Bandit are back with their latest single, a rework of ‘The Guns Of Brixton’. Building a reputation for themselves with their explosive live performances at festivals across the UK, the band are primed for their reshaping of the classic Clash anthem with their distinctive dub tinge. Echo-soaked guitars and militant rhythms set the foundation, while a sharp brass line cuts through with urgency and intent. As it settles, the track takes a left turn, building into a high-energy drum and bass finale that feels primed for the festival field.

Speaking about the project, the band explains, ”The original track feels as relevant now as it ever did. We didn’t want to just cover it - we wanted to reinterpret it through our lens. For us, that meant pushing the dub textures further, giving the brass real bite, and then accelerating into Drum & Bass - because that’s part of the same UK lineage. Reggae, punk, rave culture - they all speak to each other. This record is our way of stitching those threads together.”
