Hailing from Surrey, Sunday Smoke continue to build on their early momentum with ‘Complex’, a track that leans fully into the emotional weight of their songwriting. As a young trio finding their footing on the UK indie circuit, their latest release shows a band unafraid to sit with uncomfortable feelings and translate them into something immediate and resonant. Opening with a swell of distorted guitars, the track wastes little time in setting its tone, balancing grit with a sense of vulnerability that runs throughout. There is a push and pull to the arrangement, pounding percussion driving things forward while the vocals carry a more reflective edge.

Speaking about the single, the band explain, “This song is about when a close friend catches feelings, and the friendship fades. It’s about missing who they were, feeling guilty for not feeling the same, and realising you might be in the same situation with someone else…”
