Second Language share the momentous ‘Swing Time’

Second Language recently released a 2024 remix version of their 1992 track ‘Swing Time’, the track’s new variant showcasing enduring creativity and musical evolution with a sound that sounds just as progressive thirty years on. Crafting a vast world with their arrangement, the band seamlessly bring together what feels like totally different beasts in one momentous musical arrangement.

Pushing guitar arpeggios, and bright, twinkling percussive melodies are infused with an alt-rock soundscape and passionate vocal performance, ‘Swing Time’ beginning a charge of sound that slowly becomes a vibrant piece of storytelling.

Jessie, band figurehead, explains her reflections, "We wrote 'Swing Time' in 1988 about a romantic relationship gone wrong. This version was recorded in 1992 for our album 'WrongSpeak,' which was released in 1996. It was remixed in 2024 in Dolby Atmos by Michael James for a single release. The new remix breathes fresh life into the song, hopefully making it resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners."

Second Language is an LA-based alt-rock extravaganza, becoming known over its career for an eclectic mix of post-punk and new-wave influences. Opening for major acts such as Love & Rockets, Blancmange, and Howard Devoto and appearing on national college radio, the band’s catalogue of albums and EPs continues to expand, with a new project currently on the horizon.
