Mareya shares heartfelt new single 'Happy Girl'

Continuing her vivid creative momentum in 2025, Mareya returns to the limelight with her latest single, 'Happy Girl'. An honest reflection on mental health and identity struggles, the New Zealand-born creative makes a slight departure from her plugged-in pop-punk masterclass in the way of something that feels more personal and retrospective. The release marks the third to be taken from Mareya's debut EP, which is due for release over the coming months.

“I wrote Happy Girl when I felt anything but happy,” Mareya shares. “I was in the middle of an identity crisis, and I wasn’t even ‘done’ with feeling crap when I wrote the rejoiced ending! I wrote that part as a kind of manifesto out of that feeling, and you know what? It kind of worked.”
