Beat The Drum Release Experimental New Single ‘Shine Like A Star’

Returning with their formidable momentum and unstoppable approach to music making, duo Beat The Drum return to the limelight with their third release of the summer. Since building up a cult following in the eighties, coupled with releasing an album and a string of singles, the group have now reformed in the hands of duo Chris Calloway and Steve Murrell. ‘Shine Like A Star’ is an emphatic anthem which sees the duo take a step deep into experimental, electronic territory.

The band explains, “'Shine Like A Star' started with a repeating looped guitar before developing into a strangely uplifting hypnotic song. We wanted to get what a ‘sweet and sour’ element into the song with the verses listing negative states of action as it evolves into an almost ecstatic chorus.”
