Releases you might have missed:
Mali - Saviour Complex
Twinned with a visual, Mali has returned with Saviour Complex, drawing from personal experience of not wanting to be the hero.
Loaded with infectious pop melodies, glorious ad-libs, and grooving bass synth lines, Mali is at her best, both through her mesmeric pop vocals and stellar commercial writing style. The video is a playful, charming, and joyous addition, giving the single fresh, youthful energy, making Saviour Complex the best possible warm-up for the hotly anticipated album.
Left Arm Tan - Amsterdam
Left Arm Tan, the six-piece Americana act, unveil their latest work, titled Amsterdam. This single is bookended by their triumphant return Rolling Under The Stars, released at the dawn of August, and foreshadows their hotly anticipated comeback album, When Tigers Smoked.
Amsterdam is considered, with beautiful penship and crafted instrumentation. Stripped back, by no means sparse. Retaining the sonic roots of Fort Worth, Texas, the single also embraces traditional folk elements heard more so in Europe - somewhere between the tavern and the taverna. Each melody is deliberate, each note is well reasoned, and in a world of auto-tune and overdubs, the school of less-is-more is most favorable.
Johnny Corralitos - Who Loves The Sun
Who Loves The Sun is the first offering from Jonny Corralitos’ forthcoming eight-song album, returning one year after the 2025 acclaimed World Of Sound EP. Who Loves The Sun is packed with glorious brass lines, stunning vocal ad-libs and harmonies, whilst spearheaded by Jon Abrams, AKA, Jonny Corralitos’ warm lead vocal. This Velvet Underground cover as a first foray into his new work is a bold feat, yet a gamble that ultimately has more than paid off.
Minnegasco - Livin In France
Formed in 2026 by musician Jon Forrest Little and Dru Astark, Minnegasco have released their new single Livin In France. The pair are joined by indie royalty James Mercer of The Shins and Broken Bells.
The band is also launching an exciting video campaign, inviting residents of France to film and submit video clips capturing the raw, authentic pulse of French daily life. These moments will be used to crowdsource Minnegasco’s video, with a grand prize being awarded to their favorite submission.
To participate, creators living in France simply shoot a silent 15–30 second YouTube Short, post it with the hashtags #minnegasco and #livininfrancecontest, and submit their link in the video comments and official entry form.
Eight finalists will see their footage edited into the final montage alongside official Minnegasco apparel, with the prize winner earning a co-director credit, plus their choice of a weekend getaway to Évian-les-Bains or 10 ounces of physical silver bullion.
ALLEY the band - The Gift
Following their June outing, Fantasize Romanticize, rock-and-rollers ALLEY the band make a timely return. Their latest offering, The Gift, just keeps on giving.
The single is transformative, with driving verse lines personified by Ali, the band’s vocalist, in a commanding performance. These verses are countered by spacey, slow-down, almost psychedelic chorus lines, with hypnotic melodies later met by rip-roaring guitar riffage, before a joyous, anthemic final chorus with soaring harmonies.
Samaistha & Sue Dhaibi - Sacred Soma
Samaistha and Sue Dhaibi follow their project Spirit Flux, this time through Sacred Soma, a collaborative meditative journey of sound and part of their Pure Meditation series. The single explores intimacy and connection with nature, the universe, and inner peace, as well as physical and spiritual experience, making up Sacred and Soma respectively.
