Maeesha b's debut EP 'if only u knew' opens with 'PROVE IT', a light and bouncy introduction to the project. The dance between kick drums and warm plucks settles in beneath a melodic vocal performance. Next up, the title track, featuring Look A Like, Maeesha portrays someone lost in the rose-tint of romance, Look A Like's verse echoing these feelings of devotion and sleek flows.

The modern nostalgia of pop princess and rap star duet is then moved to the thick R&B of 'CALL ME', the sense of luxury palatable as the sonics hit your ears. 'BACK IT UP' hits next with high-energy glamour and glitter, pounding kicks and upbeat performance pushed forward with heavy 808s. 'DON'T DELAY' returns to the Afro-beat grooves before 'COMPLETE' wraps the project with more airy and dreamlike R&B.

Emerging from Ottawa, Canada, Maeesha is a singer and rapper who has captivated audiences since she was thirteen. Singing since the age of six, Maeesha’s talents have placed third in Music Jeunesse in Quebec and she has performed at a Black History Month gala, receiving coaching from Shaun Royer and Roy Hamilton.

In 2023, Maeesha b released a series of singles, blending contemporary rap with soulful R&B melodies. Influenced by Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and SZA, Maeesha has most commonly been compared to H.E.R. for her music’s vocal quality and emotional depth. With performances at significant events like the Boys of Summer Tour, Playlist Live, and OBJ X Toronto, the artist is solidifying her status as an emerging artist to watch.
