Johnny Majestic Releases Music Video for Single ‘EVERYBODY LIKES ME!’
Returning with his colourful approach to contemporary rock ‘n’ roll, Johnny Majestic’s emphatic ‘EVERYBODY LIKES ME!’ gets the music video treatment with his latest piece of creative work.
The single launches into action, washing together the raspy glitz of glam rock with the infectious toplines of alternative rock and roll. Armed with the charms of everyone from David Bowie to Johnny Rotten, Johnny Majestic's effortless enthusiasm cements ‘EVERYBODY LIKES ME!’ as one of the most exciting singles of this year. Giving the single a fresh lease of life, the release of an accompanying music video illustrates the multi-talented nature of Majestic. Taking elements from his dynamic live shows and film footage recorded on the streets, the music video highlights the tongue-in-cheek nature of the single’s lyricisms and presents them all dressed up in one exciting art form.
Speaking about the single, he explains, “I wrote and recorded the demo for "Everybody Likes Me!" after a night of just acting like an absolute buffoon. I tried getting into a fight at a friend's party (in a very drunken and awkward way)- and it was also at a time when I just went through a breakup and had a very f**k it approach to basically everything- which is basically what I'm singing about in the song. Specific instances of that, being a drunk high mess that's getting into fights and breaking people's hearts. I felt like a pink humanoid cat was a good representative of all those feelings.”
