German soul songwriter extraordinaire Cris Cap is back with his new EP ‘Unrequited’, featuring a fresh single of the same name and five old fan favourites. The first beckoning into the misty beauty of the project lies in its harmonies, the vocals punching out like a choir. Funky elements help to light up the sky, the grooves settling in. ‘Don’t You Cry’ fills up a relaxed summery feeling, the synth pulse and whistle melodies at the centre of the bright emotions.

The groovy feelings continue into the warm electric piano of ‘Show My Love’, Cris Cap’s well-selected vocalists aiding his musical journey as the subtle swirls, powerful bass lines and firm drum backdrop supercharge their performance. Cap’s chord progressions are another of the essential elements that make his music such a broad experience, each track moving steadily forward through smooth atmospheres. ‘Wings Of Love’ is the final of this rich collection the horns and glittery percussion grasping the listener one final time as we are welcomed into a beautiful sunset, the deep colours crowding your vision.

"I am thrilled to finally share my musical work of the past year,” Cap shares, “Each track tells a story of love and emotional resilience. It has been a long way. It was just wonderful working with great musicians and friends in Germany and amazing singers from the UK and USA. The EP features six tracks with five distinctive singers, all showcasing my blend of funk, soul, and contemporary R&B, with the title track "Unrequited" making its debut, featuring a collaboration with Brooklyn's Anna Teers.

It delves deeply into my personal experience of falling hopelessly in love with a girl who didn't return my feelings. Her kindness and words lit a fire in me during a difficult time in my life. Despite my efforts to win her over, I realised that my feelings would never be reciprocated. This song captures the essence of that emotional journey."

Taking influence from soulful artists old and new, Cris Cap, audio engineer, TV director and phenomenal songwriter, first developed his love for music at seven. His Fender Rhodes MK 1 is a performance treasure, the vehicle which he composes, holding a keep-it-simple attitude. facing the challenges of a multi-faceted life, his dedication continues to lead to new adventures.
